I realize many of my posts lately have revolved around home improvement. Maybe it’s because it’s winter and I’m spending so much more time indoors, but I definitely have the DIY bug.

I love this natural stone for the bathroom floor. My initial thought was to do white tile throughout, but I think a darker, natural floor, like this one from American Olean, would pair nicely with a white ceramic for the tub surround.

This interesting shape (Streetlamp Mosaic 1/2 x 6 AU01) would be a good candidate for the tub surround.

Or this pattern, called Context, from Ann Sacks.

i like the contrast big tiles, and i regret doing a white floor – now that bruiser's brown fur is visible everywhere!

subway tile would be like 10% of the cost of those other tiles, and still give you that graphic look…
