I took on an important rite of passage for 2008 and I hosted Thanksgiving dinner at my house this year. My little shotgun ranch was perfect for a Thanksgiving dinner of three. The bird, was was brined in an apple cider mixture and then cooked in an oven bag. Chorizo cornbread stuffing to go along is becoming a family classic. So dang good!!! Mom brought up a winter squash soup and a pumpkin flan dessert.

I had no idea how exhausting doing all that was! I was in bed by 9:30 – I couldn’t have stayed up if I had wanted to!!

It was super fun and I hope it will become a new tradition!
